Our Story

The Olive Tree Mediterranean Café, independently owned and operated, has become one of Hilliard’s most popular dining destinations since it opened in 2009. The Olive Tree’s unique appeal is a result of authentic, freshly prepared recipes, served in a casual, family-friendly atmosphere at reasonable prices.

Menu items represent the majority of countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea such as Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt, Morocco, Libya, and Spain. Almost every item is prepared in house using quality ingredients like fresh meats, fish, vegetables, herbs, extra virgin olive oil, and distinct Middle Eastern spices, all components of the heart-healthy Mediterranean diet.

Guests love our Shawarma, Shish Kabobs, Spicy Gyro, Moussaka, Couscous, fresh-baked Spanikopita, and Hummus dishes, items they can’t get anywhere else. Sunday breakfast, served 10 am – 2 pm, features unique breakfasts with Mediterranean and Jewish origins like Shakshuka, Gyro Omelet, Burekas, Jachnun, Sabich, Challah French Toast and New York Style Bagels & Lox.

The Olive Tree has received numerous awards and reviews over the last three years including Tastecasting’s Best Ethnic Food in 2009, Best of Citysearch in 2010, four stars from The Columbus Dispatch, and the 2012 Emerging Business Award by the Hilliard Chamber of Commerce.
